Coronavirus: Amid restrictions in Delhi, liquor served without licence; 2 arrested

Synopsis

 Two Delhi men served liquor amid the coronavirus pandemic. Based on a tipoff, police raided and arrested the restaurant owner and his brother  

New Delhi: Two brothers in Delhi hosted a party and served alcohol without licence amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown. Based on a tipoff, police arrived at their restaurant called PLAYGUE on Tuesday night (July 14).

The Paschim Vihar Police arrested and booked the restaurant owner Lavish Khurana and his brother Kashish Khurana under various IPC sections.

Apart from the duo, the Paschim Vihar Police also booked 31 people out of which seven are women. All were detained for violating restrictions imposed during the lockdown.

Those who had come for the party were found drinking alcohol, smoking 'hookah' and were dancing.

While the crowd was released on bail, the Khurana brothers were produced before the court.
