While travelling on the Vivek Express between Bolpur Junction and Dankuni, content creator Rupali Dixit shared how she encountered a man making obscene gestures at her. Since then, the video has gone viral, and Indian Railways has confirmed that her complaint has been filed. According to Dixit, who posted the footage on X, the man continuously made unwanted sexual advances toward her as they were travelling. In one of the videos, the man is seen staring at her and making lewd gestures, and in another snapshot that Dixit posted, it was shown that her train had left Bolpur Junction and was on its way to Dankuni.
Describing the incident, she wrote, “Today I was travelling in Vivek Express when I stood at the coach door, this guy behaved badly and gave me signs.” According to her post, the man was travelling in the second general coach of the 15228 SMVT Express, close to the engine, and was expected to reach Dankuni Junction.

Social media users expressed outrage about the alleged abuse and applauded Dixit for recording the situation rather than remaining silent as the videos immediately gained popularity. Women shouldn't have to feel insecure when using public transit, according to a number of individuals who asked the authorities to find the man and take strong action.
Responding to the viral post, Railways acknowledged the complaint and confirmed that it had been escalated through its grievance redressal platform.
"Your complaint has been registered on RailMadad and complaint no. has been sent through SMS on your mobile no," the official handle replied.
We will require your journey details (PNR / UTS no.) & mobile no. preferably via DM. You may also raise your concern directly on https://t.co/JNjgaq1zyT or dial 139 for speedy redressal

Many people applauded the response, hoping that the complaint would result in proper action. Others took use of the occasion to encourage travellers to report harassment situations instead of ignoring them, claiming that prompt reporting enables authorities to take more effective action.
While some applauded the Railways for their quick response, others claimed the incident highlighted the need for more vigilant surveillance and tougher penalties for anyone suspected of harassing other passengers.
