India shot down 2 Pakistan JF-17 after Pakistan attacked multiple locations in Jammu, including the airport.

India shoots down two Pakistan's JF-17 after Islamabad tried to attack multiple locations, as per latest sources. Meanwhile, drone attacks have also been foiled in J&K's Udhampur and Rajasthan's Jaisalmer, and a drone was shot down in Akhnoor. Two Kamikaze drones were also shot down in Poonch. The attack comes hours after India foiled Pakistan’s attempt to target 15 Indian cities.

Pakistan launches simultaneous attack on May 8

Pakistan launched simultaneous attacks on many Jammu targets, including the airport, in a significant escalation. On Thursday evening, rockets were launched from the other side of the International Border towards Jammu.

Fighter planes swooped to respond after one of the drones struck the airport in Jammu. India successfully stopped the approaching rockets by turning on its air defense systems.

Eight Pakistani missiles were intercepted by the S-400 air defence system over Jammu Civil Airport, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia, and nearby areas. Two Pakistani drones were downed near Jammu University.

Drones were intercepted in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and Pathankot, Punjab, while sirens were heard in Chandigarh. In Jaisalmer, the Army and the airbase have been under continuous attack for the past hour, with Indian forces actively attempting to shoot down the drones mid-air.

IPL match called off

The IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was called off following an attack from Pakistan. The game was halted after 10.1 overs on Thursday, with PBKS having lost their first wicket. Players were immediately escorted out of the stadium for their safety.

Operation Sindoor 

Pakistan's missile attacks come amid India's ongoing Operation Sindoor in response to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which claimed 26 innocent lives. India began 'Operation Sindoor' in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) early on Wednesday, May 7, and was successful in taking down nine terror camps connected to Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM).
