— ANI (@ANI)On Monday, around 20 schools, including DPS RK Puram, received threat emails. One such threat was reported from Crescent Public School in Saraswati Vihar, northwest Delhi. The Delhi Fire Service, local police, bomb detection teams, and a dog squad conducted a search of the school but found no suspicious items. Other schools also received similar threat emails, and investigations are ongoing.
In response to the bomb threats and the re-imposition of anti-pollution measures under Stage 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), schools in Delhi-NCR switched to hybrid classes on Tuesday. According to the revised GRAP guidelines, students in grades 6-9 and 11 must attend classes in hybrid mode (both physical and online), while students in grades 10 and 12 are required to attend school in person.
On December 14, eight schools, including the prestigious DPS RK Puram, were targeted with bomb threat emails from an unidentified sender, warning of explosions triggered by "bomb vests." The contents of these emails were strikingly similar to previous threats, leading authorities to suspect that the same individual or group may be responsible for all the incidents.
Earlier, on December 13, approximately 30 schools received bomb threats, resulting in coordinated searches by police and other agencies. Another major wave of threats was reported on December 9, when at least 44 schools were targeted.
The Delhi Police Special Cell has registered an FIR and is conducting an extensive investigation into the ongoing threats. Despite the alarming nature of the threats, authorities have confirmed that no suspicious items have been found during the subsequent searches conducted by the bomb detection teams, fire brigade, and dog squads.
