Brace for power cuts across Chennai on Saturday as electricity board takes up maintenance work

Several parts of Chennai to face power cuts following Tamil Nadu's electric board decision to take up maintenance work. Here is a list of areas that will be impacted on June 19.

The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (Tangedco) in a release has announced the suspension of power between 9 am to 1 pm in several parts.

As per reports, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Balaji Nagar and the surroundings in Pattabhiram will face power cuts. Similarly, areas coming under Thirumullaivoyal like Lakshmipuram Koonimedu, Gandhinagar and other areas will be affected.

Adyar Besant Nagar areas including Shastri Nagar, Anna Colony, Vannanthurai and other areas will all face power cuts. Similarly in Melur segment, areas like Vallur, Athipattu, and Pattamanthurai will not have power on Saturday.

Velachery West and Chennai Central area will not have power and areas coming under these segments like, Anna Nagar, Venus Colony, VGP Selva Nagar Extension, Annai Indira Nagar and others will be impacted.

Chennai's IT corridor belt Taramani, Ezhil Nagar, Thoraipakkam, Sholainganallur will all be impacted due to power cuts on Saturday.

Similarly, areas like Vallavar Nagar, Ambedkarnagar, Jayaram Street, Bharathidasan Nagar in Puzhal and Stanley segment will have no power between 9 am to 1 pm.

Power cuts will be also witnessed in Guindy, Ambattur, Neelankarai, Saidapet and Velachery East areas, the power department will snap power.
