More than thirteen opposition parties have decided to train their guns against the currency ban in the states, especially where BJP is in power. The united Opposition has decided to call it ‘Akrosh Diwas’.
The winter Assembly Session is being disrupted by the opposition parties as they have demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak on demonetisation in the session. With Modi opting to keep mum on the issue, Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee has called a Bharat bandh, next Monday.
Around thirteen opposition parties staged a protest outside the Parliament at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
Leaders from the Congress, the Trinamool Congress and the BSP were also present at the protest.
Meanwhile, Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said the nation is backing the demonetisation decision.
"Let people take a decision. People want the house to function and are expecting a debate on this issue. The entire nation is backing the Prime Minister’s decision on demonetisation," he said.
But with many opposition parties joining the bandh call, normal life is expected to be hit.
