Bengaluru: BBMP special commissioner tests positive for COVID-19

BBMP special commissioner D Randeep tested positive for COVID-19. Randeep went through a test on 24 August after he developed mild symptoms. The special commissioner is now under home isolation. 

Bengaluru: BBMP Special Commissioner (SWM and AH) D Randeep has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now under home quarantine.

The special commissioner confirmed the news on his Twitter handle.

Reportedly, Randeep underwent a test on the 24 August as he developed mild symptoms of Covid-19.

As the results are out and the special commissioner has tested positive, he is currently under home isolation, and is undergoing treatment at home.

The commissioner has requested his close contacts to quarantine themselves and to get Covid-19 tests done.

Reports say that since Randeep is also the Zonal commissioner for Mahadevpura, he had recently visited labs and fever clinics in the ward. It is reported that he may have contracted the virus during these visits.

As Randeep is also the special commissioner (Health), he will not be able to complete his duties until he has completely recovered and tests COVID-19 negative.

Meanwhile, according to sources, Rajendra Cholan, special commissioner (Finance and IT) will be taking over and will complete D Randeep’s duties.
