Mamata Banerjee slams BJP; says it lure voters with bagful of cash during polls

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday (March 18) said that BJP leaders come from outside to the state before the election with bagful of cash to lure voters and loot votes.
 

Addressing a rally in West Medinipur, Mamata Banerjee said, “BJP leaders arrive here in choppers and planes from outside with bagful of cash to lure voters and loot votes.”

“Thousands of crores of rupees were given by the TMC government for the cyclone-affected. We stood by the side of the people during their difficult times. Where were BJP leaders then? At the time of human miseries, they are always absent,” she added.

The CM also said, “Narendra Modi's government has brought three laws. At any time, the land of the farmers will be taken away. The Bengal government have always stood by the side of the farmers. Farmers are now getting Rs 5,000 in Krishakbandhu project. They will get 6 thousand rupees from May. The government will actually get 10 thousand rupees.”

“The BJP will omit names of voters if they are not found at home during the visit of enumerators. They will just evict you (people),” she added.

At the end of the meeting, Mamata Banerjee said, “We don't want violence, we don't want bloodshed, and we don't want the politics of retaliation to enter Bengal.”
