Dilip Ghosh not to contest Bengal assembly polls

West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh said that he will not contest the upcoming Assembly polls and will focus on the party's campaign in the state.

According to BJP sources, the names of the candidates for all the remaining seats may be announced by today (March 18). The party had earlier released a list of 58 candidates for the first two phases of elections in Bengal.

The BJP's election committee met in Delhi till late Wednesday (March 17) night. After the meeting, Dilip Ghosh, Mukul Roy, Rajiv Bandyopadhyay and many other leaders returned to Kolkata.

According to sources, there is a possibility of BJP leader Mukul Roy being an election candidate this time. Ranaghat MP Jagannath Sarkar is also likely to be a candidate.
