According to BJP sources, the names of the candidates for all the remaining seats may be announced by today (March 18). The party had earlier released a list of 58 candidates for the first two phases of elections in Bengal.

The BJP's election committee met in Delhi till late Wednesday (March 17) night. After the meeting, Dilip Ghosh, Mukul Roy, Rajiv Bandyopadhyay and many other leaders returned to Kolkata.

Dilip Ghosh, “All the grievances against the election candidate will be resolved quickly. The leaders of the party have spoken to everyone. We will win the elections.”

Dilip Ghosh also said, “My name won't be there in the list of candidates contesting polls. Being state chief, the party has decided that poll campaigns in the state will be done under my supervision.”

BJP leader Rajib Banerjee said, “When a party grows up, there may be problems in selecting candidates. We have informed all the central leadership. They will make the final decision. There is dissatisfaction with the candidates even in the TMC.”

According to sources, there is a possibility of BJP leader Mukul Roy being an election candidate this time. Ranaghat MP Jagannath Sarkar is also likely to be a candidate.
