Highlights of TMC manifesto for Bengal polls

The TMC on Wednesday (March 17) released the manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal elections. The highlights of the manifesto are as follows.

New scheme to ensure monthly basic income support to female heads of 1.6 crore households of West Bengal, monthly Rs 500 to families of General Category and Rs 1,000 to families of SCST.

Making West Bengal, the fifth largest economy in the country with a GDP size of Rs 12.5 lakh crore.

The students in the states will be able to take loans up to Rs 10 lakh using Student Credit Card at 4% interest rate only.

The TMC will provide Rs 10,000 per acre per annum to all small and marginal farmers.

The chief minister also announced a pension of Rs 1,000 to widows above 18 years of age.

The manifesto also listed projects for improving the economy and the health sector, creation of jobs, food security and providing affordable housing, electricity and piped drinking water to people.
