Rather than landing any fish, Rahul Gandhi was caught in a net on the shore when he once again expressed his desire to create a Fisheries ministry. Except that it already exists. Rahul Gandhi's gaffes at public forum are becoming hard for the party spokespersons to defend, especially when he repeats the same blunders with a span of a week. Days after being fact-checked in Puducherry by the media and lampooned by ministers of the Narendra Modi government for claiming that no fisheries ministry existed at the Centre, Rahul Gandhi has gone ahead and repeated the claim.

At a public gathering in Trivandrum yesterday, Rahul said that when for the first 15 years he was an MP in the north, he had got used to a different type of politics.Rahul further said that for him, coming to Kerala was very refreshing as he realised that people are interested in issues and not just superficially but going into detail in issues.Reacting to Rahul's fisheries ministry claim, Amethi MP Smriti Irani said that the Congress leader is trying to insult the intelligence of the people, and the people of Kerala will see through it.
