Coronavirus: India’s daily COVID-19 cases count falls to 154-day low; recovery rate surges to 97.51%

The total active cases of Covid-19 in India have now surged to 3,69,846, which is the lowest count in 146 days.

India logs 25,166 new cases in the last 24 hours, lowest in 154 days. The new infections took the tally to 3,22,50,679, while the death toll rose to 4,32,079 with 437 fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, according to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday.

The total active cases of Covid-19 in India have now surged to 3,69,846, which is the lowest count in 146 days.

The data showed a total of 36,830 were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,14,48,754. India's recovery rate now stands at 97.51%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, 49,66,29,524 samples have been tested up to August 16 for Covid-19. Of these 15,63,985 samples were tested on Monday.

Over 88 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, while so far 55,47,30,609 vaccine doses have been administered, under the nationwide vaccination drive.
