Coronavirus: India’s daily cases of COVID-19 continue to decline, over 56 crore doses administered

India reported 35,178 new Covid-19 cases, 37,169 recoveries and 440 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Health Ministry.

India reported a single-day rise of 35,178 new Covid-19 cases today, along with 440 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said. The caseload tally reported so far stands at 32,285,857 and the death toll at 432,519.
 

As per Health Ministry data on Wednesday morning, the country registered 37,169 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,14,85,923 with a recovery rate at around 97.51%.

India's active caseload mounted to 3,69,846 as active cases declined by 12,101, according to the 8 am data.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, a total of 17,97,559 samples were tested on Tuesday, while 49,84,27,083 samples have been tested up to August 17 for Covid-19.

Meanwhile, 5,505,075 doses were administered in the last 24 hours, taking the total of 560,652,030 across the country upto August 17 under the national vaccination drive.
