Coronavirus: India’s daily cases continue to rise; recovery rate at 97.3%

India reported 42,982 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The active caseload currently is 4,11,076, while 41,726 patients recovered.

India on Thursday recorded 42,982 cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19), which pushed the country's cumulative infections closer to 32 million, the Union health ministry data showed.

The country also saw 533 new deaths due to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatalities in India to 426,290.

According to the health bulletin, the active caseload of India is 4,11,076 and the weekly positivity rate is at 2.37%.

Meanwhile 41,726 recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours, taking the national recovery rate in the country to 97.3%. The total recoveries from the viral contagion in the country stand at 30,974,748.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 47,48,93,363 samples were tested up to August 4, of which, 16,64,030 samples were tested yesterday.

India has administered 48.93 crore Covid-19 doses so far, data released by the Health Ministry showed.
