Coronavirus: India reports slight dip in daily COVID-19 infections with 31,382 new cases

Meanwhile, active cases lowest since March 2020 at 3,00,162 and comprise 0.89% of the total infections.

India on Friday logged 31,382 new coronavirus infections pushing the total tally of Covid-19 cases to 3,35,94,803, while 318 fatalities in the past 24 hours took the death toll to 4,46,368, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The active cases declined by 1,478 in the last 24 hours, taking the active caseload to 3,00,162. The active cases comprise 0.89% of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.

Meanwhile, a total of 32,542 recoveries in the last 24 hour took the total recoveries to 3,28,48,273. The national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.78%, the highest since March 2020, the ministry said.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, 55,99,32,709 samples have been tested up to September 23 for Covid-19. Of these 15,65,696 samples were tested on Thursday.

Over 84.15 crore vaccine doses have been administered till date. Of these, over 72.20 lakh vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive against Covid-19.
