Coronavirus: India reports 31,923 new COVID-19 cases; active cases tally lowest in 187 days

Currently, India's active cases tally stands at 3,01,640, which is the lowest in the last 187 days.

India on Thursday reported 31,923 new Covid-19 infections and 282 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare updated data. With this the cumulative caseload tally in the country stands at 33,563,421 and death toll at 4,46,050.
 

India's active caseload has declined to 3,01,640 with a drop of 349 active cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. The active cases constitute less than 1% of total cases presently. 

In the last 24 hours, 31,990 more people recuperated from Covid-19, pushing the total recoveries to 32,815,731. The recovery rate is highest since March 2020 at 87.77%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, 55.83 crore total samples have been tested to detect Covid-19 so far.

Under the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive, India has so far administered 83,39,90,049 doses against Covid-19. Of these 71,38,205 doses were administered on Wednesday.
