Coronavirus: India reports 42,909 fresh COVID-19 cases; recovery rate stands at 97.53%

India has reported 42,909 Covid cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Monday.

India recorded 42,909 new cases of Covid-19 and 380 deaths from the disease, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Monday. This took the nationwide tally to 3,27,37,939, while the death toll jumped to 437,750.
 

The country saw a total of 34,763 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,19,23,405and total recovery rate to around 97.53%.

The active cases increased by 7,766 and the active caseload stands at 3,76,324. The active cases constitute 1.15% of the total cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, 14,19,990 samples were tested on Sunday and 52,01,46,525 samples have been tested up to August 29 for Covid-19.

So far, 63,43,81,358 vaccine doses have been administered including 31,14,696 in the last 24 hours, under the nationwide vaccination drive.
