Coronavirus: India reports 37,875 new COVID-19 cases; vaccination crosses 700-million mark

India reported 37,875 daily new Covid-19 cases and 369 deaths, as per Health Ministry's updated data on Wednesday.

India reported 37,875 Covid-19 cases and 369 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data on Wednesday. This pushed the country's overall coronavirus tally to 3,30,96,718 and death toll to 4,41,411.

The total active cases of Covid-19 in India rose to 3,91,256, the ministry data showed. The active cases account for 1.18% of total cases.

At least 39,114 people were discharged in the last 24 hours, pushing the recovery tally to 3,22,64,051, the Health Ministry said. The recovery rate now stands at 97.48%.

India on Tuesday crossed the 700-million mark for total doses administered in the country. A total of 78,47,625 doses were administered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total tally of doses administered in the country to 70,75,43,018.
