Coronavirus: India reports 34,973 new COVID-19 cases, deaths remain below 300

According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate - the number of persons testing positive for every 100 tests performed - was 1.96 per cent; it has been less than 3 per cent for the past 11 days.

In the last 24 hours, India registered 34,973 new coronavirus cases, a 19 per cent decrease over the previous day. The active caseload in the country accounts for 1.18 per cent of all cases (3,31,74,954).

As per the ministry, 37,681 recoveries and 260 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.  Presently, active cases stand at 3,90,646, while the death toll at 4,42,009.
 

Of 34,973 new cases and 260 deaths reported in the last 24 hours in India, Kerala recorded 26,200 cases and 114 deaths yesterday. 

According to the Health Ministry, the daily positivity rate - the number of persons testing positive for every 100 tests performed - was 1.96 per cent; it has been less than 3 per cent for the past 11 days.

According to the government, more than 5.72 billion vaccine doses are still accessible, and more than 71.94 billion vaccine doses have been distributed to states and union territories since the country launched the world's largest immunisation push.
