Coronavirus: India reports 30,570 new COVID-19 cases; recovery rate at 97.64%

Fresh Covid-19 cases reported from across the country remained below 40,000, for the seventh consecutive day, according to Union Health Ministry data.

India reported 30,570 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, which pushed the country’s overall tally of infections to 3,33,47,325, according to Union Health Ministry data. An additional 431 deaths in the last 24 hours, rose the death tally to 4,43,928.

The country's active caseload stands at 3,42,923 as the active cases declined by 8,164. The active caseload constitutes 1.05% of total infections.

Meanwhile, 38,303 more people were discharged in the last 24 hours, pushing the total recoveries to 32,560,474, according to the data. India's recovery rate now stands at 97.64%.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, a total of 15,79,761 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 54.77 crore samples have been tested.

India has administered a total of 64,51,423 doses in the last 24 hours. over 76.57 crore vaccine doses have been administered against Covid-19 so far, under the nationwide vaccination program.
