Coronavirus: India reports 28,591 new COVID cases; Kerala accounts for over 20,000 cases

In the past 24 hours, India recorded 28,591 new coronavirus cases and 338 more deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
The active cases declined to 3.84 lakh. Meanwhile, Kerala had a major share in the new cases reported today with 20,487 cases and 181 deaths.
According to the Health Ministry data, a total of 34,848 were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 3,24,09,035 and the total recovery rate to around 97.51%.
So far, the cumulative number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 73 crore (73,82,07,378). More than 72,86,883 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday.
