Coronavirus: India logs 25,467 new COVID-19 cases; active cases lowest in 156 days

India reported 25,072 new Covid-19 cases, marginally higher than Monday’s count of 25,072 cases.
 

India clocked 25,467 new Covid-19 cases and 354 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally of Covid cases in the country to 32,474,773 and death toll to 4,35,110, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The active cases were the lowest in 156 days which currently stands at 3.19 lakh. India saw a decline of 14,373 cases in the last 24 hours.

So far, 3,17,20,112 people have recuperated from the infection, with 39,486 discharged in the last 24 hours. The national Covid-19 recovery rate has increased to 97.68%, the highest since March 2020, the Ministry said.

According to the Health Ministry's release, 50.93 crore tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 so far, of which 16,47,526 tests were conducted on Monday.
 

Meanwhile, 58.89 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive, till Tuesday morning.
