Coronavirus: India logs 23,529 new COVID-19 cases, recovery rate at 97.85%

The Union Health Ministry said a cumulative of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 88 crore on Wednesday.

India reported 23,529 new cases of coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, taking the case tally to 3,37,39,980. While 311 fatalities took the death toll to 4,48, 062, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

The active cases declined to 2,77,020 in the last 24 hours; lowest in 195 days. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.82%.
 

With 28,718 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries in the country rose to 3,30,14,898.  The recovery rate currently stands at 97.85%; highest since March 2020, said the ministry.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research data, 15,06,254 samples were tested for Covid-19 yesterday. So far 56,89,56,439 samples have been tested for Covid-19 up to September 19, 2021.

The Union Health Ministry said a cumulative total of 88.34 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far.
