Short people are usually considered less attractive and weak. But haven't you ever heard that good things often come in small packages.

Height is often considered as an advantage and is associated with success, but it does not always hold true. These are the most surprising benefits of being short.

Better brain and body coordination: Taller people take more time to receive sensory data like touch, sight, smell, hearing and taste. This is because information has to travel a longer path to provide information and signals take more time to reach the brain.

Reduced risk of cancer: A study conducted in 2014 reveals that tall people are more prone to cancer owing to some gene mutation, which is also related to cancer growth. Studies also found that taller women are more prone to breast and ovarian cancer while tall men are likely to have prostate and colon cancer.

Longer life span: The height of a person is controlled by a hormone called Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF) which also controls ageing. A low level of IGF indicates longer life expectancy.

Low chances of blood clots: Scientific studies prove that women who are at least 5-feet 6-inches tall are more likely to suffer from blood clots. They are at higher risk of venous thromboembolim (VTE) a risk associated with fatality and injury. Another study in 2015 found that men who are more than 6-feet high are at an increased risk of blood clots.
