Don’t throw away your used tea bags, instead put them to work for you. Here are some creative ways to reuse tea and not pay a penny for it

Get a room freshener at the cost of a tea bag: All you need to do is add a few drops of essential oil to the dry used tea bags and they will come handy to keep smells out of your office, small room or car even. Tea leaves absorb odour like anything, can be hidden out of sight, and still leave you with a sweet fragrance.

Your rat problem can be solved: This works almost instantly, and needless to say it does not involve you dirtying your hand with chemicals, fearing for your children or your pets. All you need is some peppermint oil or peppermint tea bags or better brew some tea with peppermint in it. Put them in a bag or dip the bag in the peppermint mixture and then place it at the openings where you suspect rats and insects enter. It seems like the smell of peppermint repulses rats, rodents, insects like spiders. After using it for a couple of days, you will see the difference.

Your foot soak at home: It absolutely works wonders, flushes out the toxins and leaves your feet feeling supple and fresh. Add used tea bags to warm water and soak your feet to neutralise foot odour, soften calluses, and nourish your skin. You can do it when you are watching TV or eating a meal or just spending some me time.

Hair conditioner: For this one you do not need to spend Rs 20 and above, depending on the tea bags you buy or the tea you brew. Make some weak tea with your used bags and use after your shampoo to condition and nourish your hair and scalp.

Beauty tip for your chapped lips: Green tea can help alleviate the harsh sting of dry and chapped lips. Just apply a green tea bag soaked in warm water over your lips. The tea will help relieve the burning sensation in addition to hydrating flaky skin and soothing dryness.
