The Centre today released the Ease of Living Index 2020 for cities with a population of more than a million, and cities with less than a million people. The government has released a list of top-ranked cities from a total of 111 cities that participated in the assessment exercise. 
 

Here is the list of the top 10 cities with over a million population:

The cities were evaluated based on their efforts to cultivate a better quality of life, create infrastructure, and address challenges of urbanization, the Urban Development Ministry said in a statement.
 

The Ease of Living Index evaluates the quality of life, economic ability of a city, its sustainability and resilience and the impact of various initiatives for urban development. 
 

The survey incorporates the residents' view on the services provided by city administration through a Citizen Perception Survey.
