Meet Pravaig Extinction EV1, India's own premium EV with 504km range

Bengaluru-based Pravaig unveiled its premium Extinction EV1 electric car which is being touted as India's response to Tesla considering its claimed 504km range and five star safety rating

The 'Made in India' Pravaig Extinction EV1 comes with a 96 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor generating a maximum output of 150 kW or roughly 200 PS. The Pravaig Extinction can do 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds.

Pravaig Extinction's battery pack can be recharged through fast charging and it can reach the level of 80 per cent from zero in just 30 minutes. Pravaig claims that the extinction has a 504km range in one charge. Comparatively, the newly-launched Mercedes EQC has a range of just 350 kms.

Pravaig promises that the Extinction EV1 would offer the space and comfort of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or a Mercedes-Maybach. Though the carmaker is yet to reveal the interiors. The company is marketing the Extinction EV1 as a premium model, not a luxury model.

According to reports, the Extinction EV1 could come with features like a large armrest in the centre, folding tray tables, six AC vents (three for each passenger), rollable partition screen, 12-inch vanity mirrors and two Thunderbolt ports, PM2.5 filtration.

Pravaig, which is aiming to produce around 250 units of the Extinction MK1 every year, says that the two-door, four-seater electric car will be primarily used for commercial fleets on a subscription based model. Sales will begin in 2021, first in Delhi and Bengaluru.
