In what turned out to be a one-sided command, Hyderabad FC came up with an avenging performance to rout Kerala Blasters FC 4-0 in the Indian Super League 2020-21, at the Tilak Maidan in Goa, on Tuesday. With this win, Hyderabad has claimed the third spot, while Blasters continues to lurk at tenth.
The first half was a composed one from both the sides, with six attacks being attempted, while Hyderabad goalkeeper, Laxmikant Kattimani came up with three saves. Both the sides failed to find the back of the net, as it all stayed goalless at half-time.
The second half saw its first attack in the 46th minute from Hyderabad, while 11 minutes later, Francisco Sandaza scored the opening goal for the side, with his right foot to the centre, from a similar position. It was followed by an attack from the Blasters in the 60th minute.
Still, Sandaza doubled it for Hyderabad through a penalty two minutes later, with his right foot to the centre, after goalkeeper, Albino Gomes brought down Joel Chianese inside the box. In the 71st minute, there was a fresh attack from Hyderabad, before Aridane scored the third 13 minutes later, through a header to the bottom-left from the centre, thanks to Lluis Sastre's cross assist from a free-kick.
The 90th minute saw Gomes come up with a save, but to no avail, as Joao Victor eventually managed to put in the fourth in the same minute, through his right foot to the bottom right in a close-range attempt, following a free-kick. Both sides came followed it up with an attack each, while Gomes pulled off another save, as the referee blew the full-time whistle, with the result in favour of Hyderabad.
