West Bengal: Rail services to remain closed on day of full lockdown; multiple trains cancelled

Train services will remain closed on Thursday (August 27) due to full lockdown in West Bengal. Indian Railways had earlier decided not to run special trains this time during the weekly lockdown. Passengers have been informed about the cancellation of train services in advance.

According to railway sources, no train will leave the state on Thursday. Besides, trains from other states will not reach here. Therefore, the Eastern, South-Eastern and North-Eastern Border Railways have announced in advance the cancellation of trains in several divisions including Howrah, Sealdah, Kharagpur, and Siliguri.

According to South Eastern Railway sources, Sealdah-Bhubaneswar and Bhubaneswar-Sealdah Duronto Express will be cancelled on Thursday (August 27). Howrah-Bhubaneswar special train will also be cancelled. Yeshwanthpur-Howrah Duronto Express too will not operate.

No special train will leave from Howrah to Yeshwanthpur on Thursday (August 27). Besides, Shalimar-Patna Duronto Special Express has also been cancelled.
