According to the State Health Bulletin, 2,982 people were reported infected with COVID-19 in a single day in West Bengal. On Thursday (August 27), the number was 2,997. A total of 1,53,754 cases have been reported in the state.
56 people died due to COVID in the last 24 hours and 11 of them were from Kolkata. The number of deaths in the state was reportedly 53 on Thursday (August 27). So far, the number of deaths stands at 3,073.
According to the State Health Bulletin, out of the 56 deaths, 14 people were from North 24 Parganas, 3 from South 24 Parganas, 3 from Howrah, 2 from Hooghly, 1 from West Burdwan, 1 from West Midnapore, 3 from East Midnapore, 3 people from Bankura, 2 from Birbhum, 2 from Nadia, 2 from Murshidabad, 2 from Malda, 1 from South Dinajpur, 2 from Jalpaiguri and 3 from Darjeeling.
In West Bengal, the number of active cases has decreased again in a single day. Presently, the number of active cases stands at 26,349. On Thursday (August 27), it was 26,709 people.
42,121 COVID-19 tests were conducted on Friday. On Thursday, the number was 42,474. So far, the number of tests has reached 17,58,728. The number of tests has increased to 19,541 per 10 lakh population.
3,286 people recovered and were discharged from hospital, on Friday, reportedly. On Thursday, it was 3,189. So far 1,24,332 people have recovered. The rate of recovery is increasing. The recovery rate increased to 80.86%. On Thursday, it was 80.20%. The number of active cases also decreased by 7 in one day.
