Coronavirus: Ensure no doctors, nurses are removed from service, minister Sudhakar to private hospitals

Karnataka medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar appealed to private hospital managements to ensure that no doctors and nurses are removed from services, in a bid to keep the pursuit in containing the coronavirus pandemic on.
 

Karnataka medical education minister K Sudhakar on Thursday (August 13) chaired a meeting with associations of private hospitals and medical colleges to discuss issues related to treatment protocols, COVID testing, admission and discharge of patients, and treating patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI).

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Principal Secretary, Medical Education and Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Commissioner, Department of Health and Family Welfare.

During the meeting, Jawaid Akhtar, Additional Chief Secretary (H&FW) informed the attendees that the Standard Operating Procedure on the use of remdesivir was finalised and the drug would be supplied to all private hospitals facilitated by the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST).
