Bengal police steps up security, intensifies patrolling ahead of Republic Day

Ahead of Republic Day, the Bengal police have stepped up security and intensified patrolling and verification drives across the state to thwart any untoward incidents.
 

According to intelligence sources, there is a possibility of several attacks on this special day, due to which security has been beefed up.

High surveillance, especially in areas adjacent to the border is being made to avoid any kind of untoward incidents. West Bengal is brought under an unprecedented ground-to-air security cover with thousands of armed personnel keeping a tight vigil for the Republic day celebrations on January 26.

Strict checking is going on from the railway station to the important offices, special places of the city where the number of common people is more.

Surveillance has also been kept at various entry points in the state. Police are searching all those places where there is a suspicion.
