West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that her government is ready to implement the Central government's PM Kissan Yojana for farmers in the state.

Earlier, Mamata Banerjee has said that the money granted to the farmers under the PM Kissan Yojana scheme should be transferred to the state but now she said that her government has no problem if the money is directly transferred to farmers.

At a meeting, Banerjee said, “Bengal government would soon convene a session of the state Assembly to pass a resolution against the new farm laws.”

If West Bengal passes the resolution, then it would become the sixth state in the country to do so, after Kerala, Delhi, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Slamming the Centre for not revoking the new farm laws, Mamata Banerjee said, “I support the farmers and want the withdrawal of these three laws for the sake of the country.”

Accusing the Centre of "pursuing politics" over the issue of implementation of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi in Bengal, Banerjee said she wouldn't let the farmers suffer.

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, an income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments is provided to small and marginal farmer families.
