Politics in Bengal made bipolar by TMC and BJP: Sitaram Yechury

The CPI(M) on Monday (January 4) said that our main aim is to stop the BJP from coming to power in the upcoming West Bengal assembly election. But the party also made it clear that it won’t ally with the ruling TMC because of strong anti-incumbency factor.

After the meeting, Sitaram Yechury said, “Our main aim is to defeat the BJP. Anti-incumbency and anti-TMC anger are deep-rooted in West Bengal. Here, if we stand in a coalition against the BJP, then all the anti-TMC votes will swing towards the BJP. So, we have to counter both the BJP and the TMC.”
