Day after skipping Left-Congress rally, Tejashwi may meet Mamata today

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav did not attend the Left-Congress mega Brigade rally in Kolkata on Sunday (February 28). Tejaswi reached Kolkata from Assam on the same day. It was anticipated that he might be present at the rally his father Lalu Prasad Yadav supported the Left Front more than once in the Left era.

According to party sources, he reached the party office in Kolkata on Sunday afternoon. There, he had a long hour meeting with party leaders. Tejashwi said that he would support those who seemed to be able to defeat the BJP.

RJD leaders Abdul Bari Siddiqui and Shyam Rajak were already talking to the Trinamool about forming an alliance before the polls. They even talked to Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee.

According to sources, RJD wants to contest in several places in the state. They especially want to field candidates in Howrah, Asansol and Central Kolkata. In all these areas, Tejashwi’s party wants to use the Bihari vote bank to send members back to the West Bengal Legislative Assembly.
