BJP making false claims; Bengal government has given permission for Rath Yatra: TMC

The Trinamool Congress accused the BJP of indulging in malicious propaganda. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday (February 5) said that the state government has given permission for Rath Yatra to the BJP.
 

The BJP had earlier claimed that the Bengal government has not given permission for the Rath Yatra in the state. The TMC challenged the BJP to produce evidence to prove its claim.

TMC wrote on Twitter, “Govt West Bengal has not denied permission to any Yatra, as claimed by BJP. They are indulging in malicious propaganda with neither substance nor truth. BJP must show material evidence of GoWB denying permission to their Yatra. This is BJP's attempt to claim victimhood.”

“A BJP functionary had sought permission from Chief Secretary, whose office directed them to local authorities. Meanwhile, a Public Interest Litigation was also filed regarding the same in the High Court & the matter is now sub judice. We thereby clarify that AITC has nothing to do with this issue,” TMC said in another tweet.
