Amit Shah’s Bengal visit on March 2, 3 likely to be cancelled

A top BJP leader on Sunday (February 28) evening said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to West Bengal is going to be cancelled. However, it is not yet known why the trip got cancelled.
 

Last Friday (February 26), the BJP announced that Amit Shah would visit West Bengal on March 2 and 3. This time his program is mainly based in Kolkata.

On the first day of his visit, he was supposed to do a roadshow from Tala to Dharmatala. On the second day, he was supposed to do a roadshow from Rash Behari to Rabindra Sadan. The BJP had even said that it had planned to hold a meeting with Shah at Hazra, known as Mamata Banerjee's neighbourhood. But perhaps all plans got ruined.

On Sunday (February 28) evening, a top BJP leader said he got the news that Amit Shah's visit might be cancelled. However, nothing specific was reported from Delhi in this regard.

Earlier, Amit Shah had visited Bengal on February 16. He flagged off the party’s fifth and final rath yatra at Kakdwip.

Amit Shah also visited the Kapil Muni Ashram on Sagar Island and Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Kolkata. He had lunch with a refugee family at Narayanpur village in South 24 Parganas.
