A heart attack happened when he was exercising in a South Delhi gym. When Raju was taken to the hospital, he reportedly complained of nervousness. The following day, he had an angioplasty and was on a ventilator.

"He was doing his routine exercise, and while on the treadmill, he suddenly fell down. He suffered a heart attack and was immediately taken to the AIIMS hospital," Raju Srivastava’s cousin had earlier told PTI. His family confirmed his death to a media outlet. The comedian died at 10.20 am, after 41 days of hospitalisation.

Raju, who had been in the entertainment industry since the 1980s, became well-known in 2005 after taking part in the inaugural season of the reality stand-up comedy series The Great Indian Laughter Challenge.
 

In Hindi movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, the remade version of Bombay to Goa, and Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya, he has also played supporting parts. He presided over the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council before his death.

Satya Prakash Srivastava, also known as Raju Srivastava, was born on December 25, 1963, in Kanpur to middle-class parents. Ramesh Chandra Srivastava, also known as Balai Kaka, was Raju's father and poet.

Raju decided to become a comedian at a very young age since he was a skilled mimic from an early age. In addition to comedy, he developed an interest in acting.

Raju has also appeared in Shaktimaan, a superhero series by Mukesh Khanna. Raju has been in well-known movies such as Baazigar by Abbas Mastaan and Maine Pyar Kiya and Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon by Sooraj Barjatya. In 2013, Raju took part in the sixth season of the dance reality series Nach Baliye.
