Cocktail 2 Sees Monday Drop But Crosses Rs 84 Crore

After enjoying a stable second weekend, Cocktail 2 experienced the expected dip on its second Monday. The romantic drama earned an estimated Rs 1.75 crore net in India, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 84.90 crore.

The film recorded an overall occupancy of 16.51 percent across 3,873 shows. While the weekday decline was noticeable, the collections remain respectable for a film that has already completed more than a week in theatres.

Before Monday, the film collected Rs 4 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 4.25 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.40 crore on Sunday, helping maintain momentum after a solid first-week total of Rs 70.50 crore.

Shahid Kapoor's Film Beats O'Romeo, Eyes Next Milestone

With its latest collections, Cocktail 2 has officially surpassed the lifetime India net collection of Shahid Kapoor's earlier release, O'Romeo, which concluded its theatrical run with Rs 72.99 crore.

The film is now just a few lakhs away from overtaking Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which earned Rs 85.16 crore during its lifetime in India. If the film remains steady over the next few days and gets a boost over the coming weekend, it is expected to comfortably cross that benchmark.

The latest performance further strengthens Cocktail 2 as one of Shahid Kapoor's better-performing films in recent years.

Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 serves as a spiritual successor to the 2012 hit Cocktail. The film has been co-written by Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain and jointly produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg under Maddock Films and Luv Films.

The romantic drama stars Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The story follows Kunal and Diya, a couple navigating marriage pressures, before an unexpected emotional twist unfolds during a vacation in Italy involving Diya's close friend Ally.
