The IPL 2021 is nearing the playoffs, as the teams involved are still in the race for it. Meanwhile, we check the present qualification scenarios involving all the sides.

The 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) is fast approaching the playoffs phase. While all the eight teams participating are still in the race, some sides have nearly sealed their fate. On the same note, we take a look at the current qualification scenarios of the sides.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
CSK is currently atop the table, winning eight from ten and nearly sealed its playoffs berth. A win more would seal its place, while winning all the remaining four would assure its position on the top.

Delhi Capitals (DC)
DC is on the same ship as CSK, placed second, having won similar to that of CSK. It is the net run rate that separates the two sides. While a win more would assure its place, too, winning the remainder would also ensure its spot in the top two.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
RCB is currently placed third, with six wins from ten. It needs to win at least a couple of more games to stay in solid contention for a top-four finish, while three wins would guarantee it. However, winning just a game could make it dependent on other results, while losing the remaining four hereon could make the task tricky for Virat Kohli and co.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
KKR has been on a roll, following its dominant wins over RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI), while it nearly missed out against CSK off the final ball. Also, with a better NRR, it is placed fourth. Nevertheless, it still needs to win its remaining four for a sure shot, while winning just three could make it dependent on other results.

Punjab Kings (PBKS), Rajasthan Royals (RR) and MI
As explained above, the three teams are on the same ship as KKR, locked on eight points, and need similar performances.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
SRH is nearly out of the race, having won just two from ten, with its latest win coming last night against RR. Although it needs to win its remaining four games to stand a chance, it would require other results to go its way. And, it can still make it comfortably without the NRR coming into effect, provided KKR, PBKS, RR and MI win just one of their remaining four. It sounds tricky, but anything is possible in Twenty20 and IPL especially.
