It was a mellowed performance from SunRisers Hyderabad. It defeated Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the IPL 2021 clash in Dubai, while some records were scripted in the process.

Former champion SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) came up with a qualified performance to overcome the challenger from an inconsistent former champion Rajasthan Royals (RR) by seven wickets in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 at the Dubai International Stadium on Monday. As a result of this performance, SRH stays in playoffs contention, while these are some of the records accomplished.

RR scripts an unwanted
The opening stand for RR was only 11. It happens to be the lowest opening stand against SRH this season.

Rashid Khan claims the most this year
Rashid claimed only a wicket this year. Consequently, he became the highest wicket-taker in the Twenty20s this year (51 off 36).

Sanju Samson plays a slowest
Samson scored his half-century off 41deliveries. It was his joint slowest in the tournament, with the other being against Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in 2017.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, RR posted a par total of 165/5, thanks to a responsible knock of 82 from skipper Sanju Samson. However, in reply, SRH opener Jason Roy played a glorious knock of 60 on debut, aided by skipper Kane Williamson's unbeaten 51, as SRH sealed it by seven wickets.
