IPL 2021: CSK members tested 'false positive', COVID re-test produces negative report

The Indian Premier League 2021 is the 14th edition of the profitable Twenty20 league, currently under the scanner for COVID breaches. Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings have been involved in the COVID scenario so far.

The 2021 Indian Premier League has been a matter of headline throughout Monday after reports emerged that a couple of franchise had COVID positive members on their side. Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings were the teams involved.

As for CSK, it was reported that chief executive officer Kasi Viswanathan, bowling coach Laxmipathy Balaji and a bus cleaner had tested positive on Sunday, while they were expected to undergo a re-test on Monday. Meanwhile, PTI reports that the re-test report of all the three has returned negative, indicating that they had tested 'false positive' earlier.

In the meantime, KKR's Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier have indeed tested positive and have been isolated from the team bubble. The rest of the KKR side returned with a negative report. Although Chakravarthy has featured in the seven games for KKR in IPL 2021, Warrier is yet to play one.

While KKR is currently in Ahmedabad, CSK is in Delhi. Meanwhile, the two were at the same venue in Mumbai a month back. As a result, the CSK members who had come in contact with Chakravarthy and Warrier have been traced."All CSK players who have been in touch with Chakravarthy have been tested as per contact tracing protocols.
