T20 World Cup 2021: Virat Kohli, KL Rahul drop places in ICC T20I Rankings

India has been off to a shaky start in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, losing to Pakistan in the opening game. As a result, the Indians have slipped in the ICC T20I Rankings, including skipper Virat Kohli.

It has not been the best of starts for India in the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup. On Sunday, it has lost its opening match to arch-rival Pakistan by ten wickets in Dubai, while it turned out to be the latter's maiden win against the side in the competition and any World Cup event. Consequently, it has affected the ICC T20I Rankings.

In the bowling department, none of the players from the sides is in the top ten. For India, seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the highest-ranked, having dropped a place to the 15th spot. As for Pakistan, pacer Shaheen Afridi has risen a spot to 12, followed by pacer Haris Rauf, who has climbed a place to 17th. The department is topped by South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi.

In the all-rounder's section, one of the two sides features in the top ten. Considering the top 20, there happens to be no Indian player. Meanwhile, Mohammad Hafeez is the only lad to feature in the rankings from Pakistan, having risen a spot to 14th. The top all-rounder happens to be Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan.

Meanwhile, for the next games, India would be taking on New Zealand, as the latter too lost its opening game to Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan takes on Afghanistan on Friday.
