The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a medium of cricket and a source of the extraordinary bond between the international cricketers. Having conducted 14 successful seasons so far, the bonding keeps getting stronger.

Numerous cricketers have developed extraordinary friendships with some of the top Indian and overseas cricketers, thanks to the IPL. In the same light, we look at six such cricketers friendships stories that began through the IPL.

AB de Villiers - Virat Kohli
In IPL, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli's friendship is considered the pair of Jai-Viru. Both have been playing together for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 14 years. Along with Kohli-de Villiers, their wives and daughters are also good friends.

MS Dhoni - Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina is MS Dhoni's most intimate friend. In 2015, Dhoni's wife Sakshi called Raina to inform Dhoni about the birth of their daughter Ziva when Dhoni was in Australia for ICC World Cup commitments. Both Dhoni and Raina have played in the IPL together for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) since 2008. On August 15 last year, both of them had announced retirement from international cricket jointly.

KL Rahul - Mayank Agarwal
From playing the U-19 World Cup together to opening for India in Tests, Rahul and Agarwal are true partners. Both are also opening partners for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL. Mayank made his debut in 2013. During this same time, three years prior, in 2010, Rahul played the first first-class game.

Yuvraj Singh - Harbhajan Singh
Punjabi pair Bhajji Paaji and Yuvi Paji played junior, domestic, and international cricket for 16 years. Although both played for different teams in the IPL, the example of their friendship is presented uniquely.

Rohit Sharma - Yuzvendra Chahal
Chahal and Rohit's social media posts show, both of them love to troll each other. Chahal started his IPL career with Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2011. During this, he developed a strong connection with Rohit. Even though he has been playing for RCB since 2014, Chahal often trolls Rohit through his posts on social media. He considers him as his elder brother and friend.

Hardik Pandya - Kieron Pollard
