India reports 11,903 new COVID-19 cases, active cases lowest in 252 days

According to the Union Health Ministry, 11,903 new COVID-19 cases and 311 deaths have been registered across the country in the previous 24 hours. According to the ministry's COVID-19 update, India's active caseload is 1,51,209, the lowest in 252 days. Currently, active cases account for less than 1% of all cases, at 0.44 %, the lowest since March 2020. The daily positivity rate has been below 2% for the previous 30 days and is currently at 1.11 per cent.
Likewise, the weekly positivity rate has been below 2% for the last 40 days, now standing at 1.18 per cent. With 14,159 recorded recoveries in the previous 24 hours, the total number of recoveries reached 3,36,97,740. Since March 2020, the recovery rate has reached an all-time high of 98.22%. According to the government, approximately 61.12 crore COVID-19 tests have been performed across the country since the outbreak began.

Meanwhile, 1,07,29,66,315 vaccine doses have been provided to eligible recipients as part of the current COVID-19 immunization programme. In the previous 24 hours, 41,16,230 vaccination doses were delivered. The country's national immunization push began on January 16 of this year.
According to the ministry, more than 114 crores (1,14,44,05,215) vaccine doses have been distributed to states/UTs through the Central government (free of cost channel) and the direct state purchase category. "More than 14.68 crores (14,68,60,146) balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available for administration with the states/UTs," it said.
The Centre launched the 'Har Ghar Dastak' mega-vaccination campaign against coronavirus sickness on Tuesday. The month-long door-to-door vaccination campaign aims to immunise the whole population in underprivileged areas. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced the immunisation programme. Over 106.79 million Covid vaccine doses have been delivered in India thus far, with over 47 lakh injections administered on Monday alone.
