The 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) will stop accepting applications for consultant posts tomorrow, Monday (August 31). The commission had changed the eligibility criteria and guidelines earlier this month.

Date for sending appointment letter or offer
Selected candidates will get their job offers through email and will have seven days to respond. They will get a maximum of 30 days to join from the date the offer letter is sent.

At least two references

What are the available posts?

The appointment will be for one year or the tenure of the Commission, whichever is shorter. If needed, the term can be extended beyond one year based on the consultant's performance and professionalism. For more on the 8th Pay Commission.

What is the required qualification?
Candidates need a Master's or MBA in Human Resources (HR)/Industrial Relations (IR) or a similar field. For legal roles, an LL.B degree and registration with a Bar Council/Association is a must, along with experience in legal research or handling service matters in a tribunal/court.

Data Visualisation
For IT/Data Analysis roles, you need a B.Tech/M.Tech degree with relevant experience in data analysis, data visualisation, etc. A knack for general research, compiling information from various sources, and drafting notes is also desirable.

Knowledge and experience are mandatory
All consultants must know how to use Excel/spreadsheets and create presentations/slide decks. The Commission will give preference to candidates who have worked on salary structures, compensation packages, or establishment matters.

What are the terms of employment?
The Commission will hire consultants for a fixed term to provide high-quality services or handle specific time-bound tasks. They won't be hired for routine work. The job can be full-time or part-time. Full-time consultants cannot take up any other assignment while working with the Commission.
