Vivek Agnihotri reacts to Twitter user asking him to make 'The Manipur Files'

Recently, a Twitter user advised filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri to create the movie "Manipur Files." The director of "The Kashmir Files" responded to it as follows.  

Following the success of The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, user Vivek Agnihotri was contacted on Twitter and asked to develop The Manipur Files. Vivek's post regarding the plight of Kashmiri Pandits prompted this appeal. His web series, The Kashmir Files Unreported, has debuted its teaser. Agnihotri recently tweeted on the murder of unarmed Kashmiri Pandits. At that very moment, a Twitter user advised the director to make a movie about the "Manipur Files."

The netizen wrote, "Don't waste time go and make a movie 'Manipur Files' if you are man enough." In his funny reply, Vivek thanked them for their confidence in him but also questioned whether he should be the only director in charge of all projects. "Thanks for believing so much in me," he answered. In what way are Par Saari Films Mujhse Hi Banwaoge? Filmmaker'man enough' nahin hai kya tumhari 'Team India' mein (But do you want me to produce every movie. Everyone else isn't man enough, right?

About two months ago, on May 3, in Churachandpur town, Kuki organisations demonstrated against a plan to give the Meitei community scheduled tribe status. This is when the unrest in Manipur started. Conflicts ensuing from this resulted in more than 50,000 injuries and over 150 fatalities.Reacting to the Manipur incident, Vivek had previously penned a heartbreaking poem. He tweeted, “MANIPUR: Moplah, Direct Action Day, Noakhali, Bangladesh, Punjab, Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala, Assam, Bastar and now Manipur… Every time our innocent mothers and sisters become the ultimate victims of inhuman, barbarian acts. As a Bharatiya, as a man, as a human being, I am shattered each time. I am ashamed. I am so guilty for my helplessness.”
