It’s official: Aishwarya Rai to romance this young man

Synopsis

A couple of weeks ago, there were rumours about South actor R Madhavan romancing Aish onscreen, but this news has put a full stop to it.  As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Rajkummar Rao is all set to romance Aishwarya Rai in Fanney Khan that also stars veteran actor Anil Kapoor.  Fanney Khan is the Hindi adaptation of the 2000 Dutch release Everybody's Famous, directed by Dominique Deruddere.

It's a lucky day for Rajkummar Rao, who has beaten Vicky Kaushal and R Madhavan and bagged a role opposite Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Fanney Khan.

This year, the actor has given good films like Trapper and Bareilly Ki Barfi and showed his brilliant performances that helped him land up in a big project. As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, the actor is all set to romance Aishwarya Rai in Fanney Khan that also stars veteran actor Anil Kapoor.

Speaking to a leading daily from Poland where he is filming Hansal Mehta’s biographical series, Bose, the actor confirmed that he has been informed about the role late on August 29 by producer Prernaa Arora of KriArj Entertainment, who he has wanted to collaborate with. “We’re friends and have been discussing films for a while,” he revealed.

 

He is very excited to work with Aishwarya. He said, "I met Ash for the first time at the recent Melbourne International Film Festival where I picked the Best Actor Award for Trapped. She’s the most beautiful woman in the world." 

Talking about the movie, he said, It’s has a great story. There will be lots of workshops and readings once I am back,” he said.

Fanney Khan is the Hindi adaptation of the 2000 Dutch release Everybody's Famous, directed by Dominique Deruddere, which was also nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 73rd Academy Awards.

The film will be directed by debutant Atul Manjrekar. The film is based on the story of a 17-year-old aspiring singer whose career takes off after her unemployed father, who also harbours the dreams of becoming a musician, decides to kidnap the top singer of the country.

The movie marks Aishwarya and Anil Kapoor’s collaboration after 17 years. The two last shared screen space in Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai.

Rajkummar Rao's upcoming film, Newton recently came out with its trailer – He plays a morally bound man who tries to hold a fair and honest election. The film is all set to release on September 22.
