Bigg Boss star Oviya's connection with Malayalam film industry

Actress Oviya hit headlines after appearing on Bigg Boss Tamil. She was discussed in social media for her raw and uncompromising personality and gained many fans. 

Oviya quit Bigg Boss earlier this month in a dramatic way due to some emotional stress. She jumped into the swimming pool demanding the show runners to send her out of the house. She was also upset after her fellow contestant Aarav rejected her romantic overtures.

However, the exit of Oviya from the controversial house did leave her fans disappointed, and most recently, she came up with a tweet, which indeed was her first reaction, after her voluntary exit from the programme.

According to reports, Oviya Helen is a Keralite and has appeared in a handful of Malayalam movies.

Did you know? Oviya's debut movie in Malayalam was Kangaroo, which featured Prithviraj in the lead role. The movie was directed by Raj Babu and released in 2007.

The actress first came to notice in Prithviraj's Puthiya Mukham which was a blockbuster. Oviya played a character named Meera, one of the classmates of the character played by Prithviraj in the movie. She also played a prominent part in the 2008 movie Apoorva. 

Later in 2011, she was seen in Manushymrugam, directed by Baburaj, Oviya got a crucial role to play in the movie. The same year she appeared in the film Puthumukhangal.

All thanks to Bigg Boss Tamil, now, Oviya is enjoying a good fan following, she is now quite popular among Malayalees too.
