The National Awards jury Priyadarshan has said that “Aamir does not even come to collect the award, so there is no need to give him one.”
He justified his stance by saying that in 2007, he did not even turn up to collect the award for his film Taare Zameen Par.
So, now onwards, this can be taken as the new mandate for the National Awards- the winner has to come and collect the award, else you will not be considered the next time.
